As soon a...Yep, I remember that...whatever it was. As soon as I opened the door to your building, it was there waiting. It was only ever in front of the left apartment door. A dark shadow like cloud, like the sun never penetrated that spot even with the door wide open and the sunlight pouring in. And I remember it being hot, like when you open the oven door after you have been baking and the waves of heat come rushing out and close around you, and you find it hard to breathe in the heat, so you hold your breath. I would always step into the doorway on the right take a deep breath then launch myself up the stairs so I wouldn't "touch" it.
